TRADITOM workshop at the INNOHORT symposium in Avignon, France

The INNOHORT symposium was held in Avignon, France from June 08-12, 2015. The event addressed the challenges of fruit and vegetable production in times of a growing and knowing population, while facing global changes and environmental issues. INNOHORT brought together scientists willing to share their views and knowledge to design the integrated and organic horticultural cropping systems of tomorrow.

As part of the main program, the TRADITOM researchers Antonio Granell (CSIC), Antonio Monforte (CSIC), Jaime Prohens (UPV) and Mathilde Causse (INRA) organized the workshop “Traditional tomato cultivars in Europe: TRADITOM and beyond”. The researchers further presented results on volatiles and the TRADITOM project within TOPIC 1 of the symposium: “The biological dimensions of production (quantity and quality, nutritional and organoleptic): New knowledge to mobilize, from gene to the fresh product”. On June 10, 2015 Mathilde Causse (INRA) organised a visit to experimental stations and organic vegetable farms. The trip gave visitors the opportunity to see part of the variability present in the TRADITOM collection. The participating scientists were introduced to the TRADITOM collection while visiting the greenhouses where a subset of the collection was growing.
