Stichting Wageningen Research – Plant Research International

Stichting Wageningen Research is part of Wageningen University and Research Center (WUR). WUR contributes actively to solve scientific, societal and commercial problems in the domain of 1) food and food production, 2) the living environment, and 3) health, lifestyle and livelihood. Plant Research International (WUR-PRI) is a private not for profit research institute and specialises in strategic and applied research for industry and public institutions. By integrating knowledge on crop protection, crop ecology, agricultural systems, genetics and reproduction, WUR-PRI serves the entire agro-production chain with scientific products, from the DNA level to production system concepts.

Dr Richard Finkers is a senior researcher specialized in plant breeding. He works since 1999 in molecular breeding in several crops and has been active in bridging bioinformatics, genomics and plant breeding research. He has been involved in several national and international projects.

Dr Arnaud Bovy is a senior researcher who is heading the research group “Breeding for Quality” within the Department of Plant Breeding at WUR. He has about 20 years of experience in leading research projects carried out in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

The WUR-PRI team will contribute its expertise in the fields of plant breeding, metabolic engineering, bioinformatics, molecular breeding and plant genetics as well as Solanaceae collections to the TRADITOM project.
